Projects I have or am working on right now from Arduino and Pi to Golf and Motors.
So I was working as a Digital Marketing Manager for a large automobile retailer and part of my job was posting new stock across a number of Social Media websites. So I created an app that would take the new stock from a csv feed from Motors and create Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter posts with all the info about the car and links with UTM and coding into BIT.LY’s API.
Building a website and backend app to support this business was a must. This business I started in 2008 and repaired screens on all devices including; laptops, Tablets, Phones and SatNavs and was the first onsite screen repair company in the UK. It had four locations in the UK serving; London, Telford, Liverpool and Newcastle. It also sold screens, keyboards and chargers across the world.
After all of this was completed the list went on to creating blogs and news based on new products, adding in locations for SEO. That Geezer had over 100,000 pages on Google ranked number one for countless keywords and phrases.
Unfortunately That Geezer ceased trading on the 15th May 2015 is not running anymore but I will resurrect it again in some guise in the future.
After testing Evolutions website widget for a company I was working for revealed that I could manipulate their website to produce a finance quote for any amount of money, on whatever APR and over however long I wanted it for.
But it did not stop there, I also proved a cross site scripting attack, even posted a picture of the guy I was talking to on his website.
They finally took the warnings that their site was highly compromisable and an easy hack, but not before me having to prove and provide a webpage that they could use to show the hack.
After looking into the website for basic vulnerabilities for SQL injection and XSS I looked at the cookies as I always do and was horrified.
I found they were storing people passwords in plain text in a normal cookie.
Working with them to identify and close this gaping hole on Christmas Eve!
Working with Peter was a pleasure. It was a remote job with me in Essex and Peter in Immingham way up north, all the communications were done by Skype
